Two decades of chasing light across six continents
I picked up my first camera in 2005, a battered Nikon FM2 from my grandfather's drawer. Within six months, I'd sold my car to fund a trip to Iceland with nothing but that camera, a 50mm lens, and an unhealthy obsession with aurora photography.
That gamble changed everything. The images I brought back found their way into Outdoor Photography magazine, and suddenly I had a career I never planned for. Two decades later, I've photographed everything from Arctic foxes in Svalbard to street scenes in Tokyo's golden Gaijin, from wedding celebrations in Rajasthan to the vast salt flats of Uyuni.
But what I love most isn't the destinations—it's teaching. That FM2 sparked a curiosity I've never lost: understanding light, mastering technique, and then sharing what I've learned. This website is my classroom without walls. Every tool, every article, every guide exists because someone asked me a question and I realized the answer deserved more than a fleeting Instagram caption.
Whether you're just starting out or looking to refine your craft, I'm here to help you see the world more clearly—one photograph at a time.
